Awenda Pet Beach Area

Fantastic beach. Plenty of shade, stunning scenery, and nice sandy spots, though it has more rocks compared to the more popular "people beaches".

It was a wonderful destination for traveling with kids and soaking up some sun while enjoying the beach view. There are numerous trails to explore and a serene sunset to conclude the day. However, the washroom facilities are not well-maintained, which makes it difficult to fully enjoy the experience.

Awenda Provincial Park is a hidden gem that provides charming picnic spots and a delightful camping experience. Despite its smaller size, this park is brimming with surprises and natural beauty. The park features multiple picturesque beaches, each with its own unique charm. These smaller, intimate beaches offer a peaceful setting for picnics, where you can enjoy your meal to the soothing sound of waves and breathtaking views. The picnic spots are conveniently located near the beaches, making it easy to access the sand and water. For those looking to extend their stay, Awenda Provincial Park also offers a cozy camping site. Although smaller in scale, the campsite provides essential amenities for a comfortable outdoor adventure. Clean facilities, showers, and fire pits are available, allowing you to relax and enjoy the tranquility of the park. The provincial parks are really nice. The trails are relatively easy to walk and there are quite a few to choose from. Canoeing is available here. There are also nice beach areas, including a dog beach. A park pass is required, which costs around $15 for the day.

We camped at Awenda Provincial Park for three days and visited the pet beach every single day during our stay 😁. This beach is definitely the best among the pet beaches. It has a mix of sandy and rocky areas, and the water is shallow, making it perfect for pets and kids alike. The pet beach is long enough that we were able to keep a good distance from other visitors. I loved the relatively clean lake and the well-maintained path. We will definitely visit again!
