Tunamaya Beach

The rooms were comfortable, but my dining experience left much to be desired. As the hotel's restaurant was the only dining option available, I was quite disappointed with the quality of the food. Initially, the menu seemed promising, offering a variety of dishes that sounded appetizing. However, the reality was far from it. The food was completely devoid of flavor. The noodles had barely a hint of sauce, and the salad was equally uninspiring, consisting of wilted lettuce and a few sad-looking vegetables. Even the bread, which should be a safe bet, was dry and tasteless. The breakfast buffet wasn't much better. Although there were several options, everything tasted bland. The dining room itself was pleasant, and the staff was friendly and attentive, but they couldn't make up for the lackluster food. I expected much more from a hotel of this caliber, especially considering the cost of the meals. Overall, my stay at Tunamaya was marred by the disappointing food. I hope the management takes this feedback seriously and improves the quality of the food. Until then, I can't recommend dining at this hotel.

I had an amazing experience at Tunamaya Tioman. From the moment we arrived, the service was outstanding, thanks to Ms. Diana at the front desk who greeted us warmly. The food at the cafes was both delicious and affordable. The breakfast selection was impressive, and Mr. Milton and his team provided excellent service throughout our stay.

Upon arriving, my first impression was disappointing as I walked up the jetty and saw the main building's roof in poor condition, along with rotten and unpainted fascia boards. My room had several issues, including a fuzzy TV, a rotten step at the entrance, and a stopped-up sink, but all these items were quickly corrected or repaired. Despite these initial problems, I really enjoyed my room. My main issue was with the main building where everyone gathers and has meals. The food was not something I’d want to eat again; I enjoyed the seafood, but the western dishes were a definite "Oh No." If you’re looking for a nice beach, this is not the place for you. The pool area was okay but also had damaged areas around it. Many of the wooden boardwalks were rotten and in bad condition. Don’t even bother using the little card they provide to get your bedding changed—they don’t change it unless you stand there, ask directly, and watch them do it. Personally, I don’t think I would return to this location. However, the staff are very friendly, smile, and serve you well.

Ideal spot for unwinding. I'm puzzled by the comments about the food choices. However, we stayed for 3 days, and I can see how it might feel limited if you're here for 2 weeks. The snorkeling and diving center affiliated with the resort is excellent!

The location is breathtaking, and the cabins are charming, as are the staff. I’ve only given 3 stars for service because the food leaves much to be desired. The quality of meals varied from substandard to merely acceptable. I wasn’t expecting 5-star cuisine at these prices, but making simple and tasty food shouldn’t be difficult. A few dishes were even inedible. If the resort can improve the food, they’ll definitely attract more customers. As I mentioned, the staff are fantastic—warm, friendly, and helpful. We had a wonderful time with Ben and the team from the diving center. Just focus on improving the cuisine.
