Koh Mak Buri Hut Beach

The hotel is old and poorly maintained. The AC lacked a remote, and our request for one was ignored. The fridge was extremely old, rusty, and dirty; when I informed the receptionist, she laughed. The ceiling had cracks in multiple places, and the bathroom was not clean. There was no storage room or space in the room. On a positive note, the swimming pool offers a nice view. Overall, it is not worth the money.

For the price, it was fantastic! We spent a week at this beautiful resort, which is a perfect romantic getaway for couples. The rooms were clean, and the soft bed was amazing. It was peaceful and quiet, and the staff made us feel right at home. The woman who runs the place ensured we were very comfortable and happy. We chose not to rent a motorbike, but the resort has its own taxi service that always quickly got us to our desired destinations. The island isn't very big, so if you enjoy walking, go for it. The food was delicious! The woman who cooks does an amazing job. They have an on-site restaurant offering both Thai and Western options. Considering the sea view, the prices were reasonable. We found only a few places on the island that were cheaper, but they lacked the nice atmosphere and views. Cons: There are a lot of stairs. We chose a room that required more stairs, but the views were worth it. I almost fell twice on the stairs. If the hotel ever remodels, please add ramp walkways. Steps can be dangerous, so giving guests two options would be great. The bathroom can kill some of the romance if someone uses the toilet, haha. My advice is to open the window and door in the room to air it out. For the price, it was worth it. Happy customers! Thank you!

This resort is located on the quieter side of Koh Mak. We stayed as a family of four with young children and found the room, even with an extra mattress, to be a bit too claustrophobic. You also need to have fairly good knees to stay here, as the resort is situated on a hillside, requiring you to walk up and down throughout the day. The lady manager is very kind; she may seem quiet and reserved, but she will get things done for you. The food is standard, with good portions and reasonably priced. The main drawback is the beach, which is somewhat rocky and muddy. The sand is coarser than the beaches on the NE and SE of the island, and the water is murky with zero underwater visibility. However, we were genuinely happy staying at Buri Hut.

The resort itself is fantastic: the room is clean, spacious, and very comfortable. Every morning, you receive new water bottles. The resort features a large, excellent pool and a pier where you can watch the sunrise. The lady at the reception is extremely helpful. However, there are a few downsides: don't expect a nice beach here, as the one at this location has red sand and is rocky, making it unsuitable for swimming. You can rent a motorbike to explore the island, which is small and easy to navigate. Additionally, the restaurant is VERY expensive, so we didn't eat there. You can find cheaper and good options just a 4-minute drive from the resort.

This resort is one of the best we've ever visited. The huts are spacious, clean, and equipped with a comfortable bed, A/C, and a fan. Amenities include a pool, restaurant, bike rentals for exploring, a beach, and a pier perfect for relaxing and watching the sunrise. It's a family-friendly and peaceful place that offers great value. Puu, the receptionist, is extremely kind and helpful! Highly recommend!!
