Lakeview Beach

A truly lovely beach! It's an excellent location for swimming and beach activities. The lifeguards are attentive and do an excellent job ensuring everyone's safety. While the restrooms could be cleaner, they are not terrible. There are also outdoor shower stations available to rinse off the sand. The lake views are stunning, and you can even see the lighthouse, which is pretty cool.

The beach is pleasant but somewhat small. Swimming is prohibited, and pets are not allowed on the beach. Fishing is permitted on the west end. The park itself is spacious, featuring several pavilions for gatherings and an impressive Purple Heart memorial. Unfortunately, the fountain was empty during my visit.

Remarkably clean, the bathrooms at Shelter One are likely the nicest beach/park restrooms I've come across. It's a great place to take a break if you're nearby.

What can I say about this place? Well, quite a lot actually. I've been coming here since I was a kid and I love it for numerous reasons. First, the view at sunset and of the beach in general is amazing, with the Lorain lighthouse just slightly east of the park adding to the cool factor. They also have a large rose garden, which is awesome when the roses are in full bloom—the fragrance is simply amazing. At the main entrance, there's a larger basket, and I have to mention the big fountain in the middle of the park. Especially after sunset, it lights up in different colors and patterns. This place truly is a treasure for the local area. I'll be back as often as possible. 😎

What a stunning location, words can't do it justice... A park filled with fragrant roses, where you stroll and are enveloped by an irresistible aroma. There's a beautiful fountain, benches, tables, and a picturesque beach. The beach features a playground, clean sand, and a breathtaking view of the lake, all complemented by fresh air. We spent 5 hours here, and the time flew by unnoticed. The children have ample space to play and run, while adults can relax peacefully. With summer just beginning, we will definitely return for more visits. Highly recommended!
