I visited this beach in October and found it to be a fantastic spot for cycling along the beach paths and enjoying endless walks. The swimming pool was absolutely luxurious and the facilities were impeccably clean, including the excellent showers.
This was the worst camping experience I've ever had. The entire campground has a very depressing atmosphere, and it's filled with only rude and disrespectful people. It's also quite expensive, and despite their claims of having electricity available at all pitches, many of them actually don't have any electricity. When we arrived late, our assigned pitch was already occupied, so we had to search for another place to sleep. The next morning, the receptionist had poor English fluency and became very rude when we didn't immediately pay in full before explaining our situation. There was no possibility of a refund or any sort of resolution. The only positive aspect is that the beach is conveniently close, but I don't consider that to be anything special since there are numerous camping sites near the Atlantic Ocean in France that are much more beautiful. The only redeeming quality was that the restroom facilities were fairly clean.
Camping Trip with Mixed Emotions I recently went on a camping trip and had a mixed bag of experiences. On the one hand, the 3-bedroom cabin we stayed in was amazing. It was super clean and modern, and it felt like it was brand new. The location was also great - right on the beach with awesome views. One of the things I really appreciated about this campsite was how quiet it was. Everyone was really respectful of the noise levels, which made for a really peaceful atmosphere. However, there were a few drawbacks. The cabin we were in was unfortunately close to the bar, which played music until 11pm. This could be a bit of a pain if you're trying to go to bed early. The pool area was another highlight. It was clean and inviting, and it was a great way to cool off on a hot summer day. I also liked that there was a restaurant and a small convenience store on-site. This made it really convenient to grab food or essentials without having to leave the campsite. The campsite also had a sports area and a playground, which were great for kids. However, the kids' club was only open for 2 hours in the morning and 2 hours in the afternoon, and it wasn't open every day. This could be a bit of a bummer for families who are looking for more entertainment options for their kids. Overall, I had a good time at the campsite. The views were amazing, the amenities were clean, and the atmosphere was generally respectful. However, there were a few things that could have been improved, like the noise from the bar and the limited hours of the kids' club. If you're looking for a camping site with stunning views, clean amenities, and a generally peaceful atmosphere, this is a great option. Just be aware of the few drawbacks I mentioned before you book your trip. I hope this rewritten review is more helpful!
I would recommend this beach for tent camping. The pitch for our medium-sized tent was a classic French style and had enough space. However, larger tents might have difficulty fitting. The facilities were clean and well-maintained. The pool was great and had plenty of beds for lounging. The beach was nearby, but it was advised to swim at the adjacent beach due to dangerous currents. The site had a relaxed atmosphere and people were considerate of noise in the evenings.
Our stay was a bit of a mixed bag - we had a great holiday, but it was mainly because of the people we met rather than the site or facilities. The chalets on the site are very close together, with no real outdoor space between them except for parking. Unfortunately, our 10-year-old son had his bike stolen from outside the bar/shop area on the second day. There is a busy cycle path that runs right past the entrance to the site, and there is a traveler site nearby. While I'm not saying that these were the reasons for the theft, it was surprising that the site had no security measures like CCTV, especially in these busy areas. My wife reported the theft to the staff, but they didn't seem to care. She even asked if they would offer a discount on a rental bike, but they flatly refused. The pool is quite nice and warm, but it closes early and is usually crowded. The shop's opening times are unpredictable. It's unclear why they bother displaying times on the door. The bar was decent and had some good live music, but it could use some renovations. For example, all three pool tables had tears in the cloth. The play area is limited, with only a playground and a small multi-sports area. There are no fields or open spaces for activities. The beach is stunning, although it's not sandy and the waves are often powerful. It's great for surfing, but there was only one day during our week when the kids could play in the sea. This area of France is beautiful, with plenty to see and do. The Roan chalets were lovely as always. However, the site itself feels worn out and cramped, so we won't be returning.
