Thoothukudi Beach

The Tuticorin beach, renowned for its very low tides, is situated in Tuticorin, also known as Thoothukudi. This city is home to the major Tuticorin port, which plays a crucial role in global exports and imports. Over the years, Tuticorin has gained significant international importance and is recognized as a key port. Operating year-round, it is strategically located in the international sea passage. There are weekly direct transport services to the United States of America, which contribute to the development and growth of the local population and surrounding cities. Additionally, Tuticorin supports the ports of Madurai, Coimbatore, and Tirunelveli. Once a hub for shipbuilding industries, Tuticorin now stands as one of the state's most prominent landmarks. I took an early morning walk on the beach and enjoyed the serene atmosphere.

Ideal beach for a relaxing weekend with your family. Spending just an hour here can melt away all your stress. The best time to visit is between 4pm and 8pm; outside of these hours, the beach is usually empty. No toilet facilities available. No nearby restaurants. No accessible tea shops. Only a few street vendors selling cut mangoes and groundnuts. On Sundays, the beach gets quite crowded and has police presence. The beach boasts a clean sandy area.

This is one of the finest beaches in South India. Reflecting on my time here fills me with a wonderful vibe. It's secluded, less crowded, and incredibly peaceful. An evening stroll in this place can truly enhance your day. The natural breeze combined with the mesmerizing sunset creates an unforgettable experience. I find myself wanting to return again and again. The beach is also very clean. Highly recommended. 10/10.

Although Tuticorin is a beach city, its beach doesn't quite measure up when compared to those in other coastal cities. The waves and currents here are much gentler than those at the beaches in Kanyakumari. However, the area is clean and comes alive in the evenings with families. There are plenty of food and snack options available at night. The sunset view is quite nice from this spot. One downside is the lack of a walkway, and there's more beach sand missing than you'd expect. The place is peaceful, and you can see fishermen's boats along the sides.

This beach is excellent for spending time with friends and family. We had a great time here because the water and surroundings are very clean. However, it's best to avoid visiting after 6 PM.
