Nice castle, but not open to public
It’s pity that the place is always closed and not accessible. The view is something spectacular.
The Mandre tower is actually divided between two territories, given that a portion falls in the locality of Trabia. As previously mentioned, the panoramic position allowed the soldiers to better defend themselves in the event of any attacks, offering a view from Capo Zafferano to the coasts of Campofelice di Roccella. Its scenery is truly out of the ordinary, with a view overlooking the sea that will leave you speechless. Today the conditions of the tower are truly excellent, with an architectural integrity that is truly worth appreciating.
Very beautiful view of the coast, you have to go there in the evening when the tower is lit!
The "Torre delle Mandre" is a coastal tower located in Trabia, in the province of Palermo, Sicily, Italy. This tower is an example of coastal defensive architecture that dates back to the period of Spanish domination of the island, around the 16th century. The Torre delle Mandre was part of a system of coastal towers used for the defense of the Sicilian coasts against pirate incursions. These towers were used to spot enemy ships and signal the arrival of dangers along the coast. Today, the Torre delle Mandre is a historic site and a testament to the importance of coastal defense in the past. You can visit the tower and admire its historic architecture while enjoying panoramic views of the coast.
