Plaine Magnien Beach

We had a fantastic time during our second visit to Shandrani Beachcomber Resort & Spa. The service was excellent and friendly, the rooms were clean and spacious, and the dining facilities were of world-class quality. There were plenty of activities to enjoy within the resort, so there was no need to venture outside. All of Beachcomber's resorts are truly top-notch. We are already planning to stay at Victoria in March. We would like to express our gratitude to all the employees at Beachcomber for providing us with another amazing holiday experience. You guys are simply the best!

I just returned from a 3-night stay at the hotel. What we found unpleasant was the service during meal times at Le Grand Port Restaurant. The waiters showed little care for the guests and did not greet them or take their drink orders like we have experienced at other Beachcomber hotels. We had to chase them for drinks and they made faces when we asked for additional cutlery. The waitstaff, in general, left us unimpressed, especially Ms Pallavee who was highly unprofessional. Instead of properly handing us the napkins we requested, she dropped them on the table and tried to take our plates away before we were finished. The customer service was a letdown. We understand that the hotel is large and possibly understaffed during this busy season, but it is unacceptable that even when the buffet area is not crowded, the waiters are more focused on clearing or setting tables for the next meal rather than attending to the guests' needs. On the positive side, the food at the buffet was amazing and the chefs were excellent. The pan-seared salmon at lunchtime was exquisite and the diverse options at the Asian buffet were delicious. The dessert selection was also very good. We also enjoyed the entertainment with the fireshow, live music, and Superheroes' contest. The water boat activities and the free hammam at the gym were fun as well. Overall, we had an amazing experience at the hotel, but the poor customer service has made us hesitant to visit Shandrani again in the near future.

We were there from in December, the weather was absolutely perfect. The water was warm and gently lapping, making it ideal for swimming. It was great to see the children playing freely without constant supervision, and we felt comfortable leaving our belongings on the lounger knowing they would still be there when we returned. The rooms were spacious and clean, and the bathrooms throughout the resort were both beautiful and well-maintained. The food was delicious no matter where we ate, and there were plenty of activities to keep the children entertained. Each day, there was a program for them to attend, which not only gave us adults some free time but also ensured that the children were protected from the sun for a few hours. Overall, we had an amazing time at the beach.

The hotel itself is very nice and the food is good. If you enjoy snorkeling, these are probably the best beaches you'll find on the island. However, the service at the beginning was poor. We were ignored at the reception in favor of foreign tourists. When someone finally spoke to us, they told us to wait and then forgot about us. Instead of making us feel welcomed, the lady started talking about her life. In the restaurant, a waiter directed us to a table, but then another waiter stopped us and said we couldn't sit there. He was bringing another couple to our assigned table. I had to explain to him that the first waiter had already given us that table. When I asked for a teaspoon (which was not available in the restaurant), one waiter told us to ask another. And when I asked another waiter, he told me to ask yet another one... Some days, the waiters were vulgar with each other and did not display the professionalism expected in such hotels. On other days, the service was fine. At the Grand Port restaurant, the plates were not distributed well across the room, and often, there was a shortage of cutlery or glasses at the counters.
