I give one star for the natural beauty of the beach, but deduct four stars for the lack of lighting and somewhat sketchy atmosphere in the surrounding bushes. In the past, there were always people around with similar intentions, but now it feels like they make you feel unwelcome if all you want is access to a bathroom and some shade, which can be frustrating.
It's one of my favorite spots to visit during the summer - the beautiful surroundings, refreshing and clear water, it's like paradise. I've been coming here for 4 years now, but I've noticed a significant decline in its condition. It's becoming overcrowded with kids who are jumping off the rocks at the end (which seems like a disaster waiting to happen), and as it gets dark, groups of rowdy kids show up with their bottles and start bonfires. There are some regulars who try to keep the place clean, but it's getting harder for them, and it's really a shame.
I enjoy visiting this beach whenever I can. The only drawback is the disrespectful individuals who litter the area. The water is excellent and there are various terrains and spots to explore.
The beach is very peaceful and offers stunning views of the landscape near the reservoir dam. It is easily accessible by car, on foot, or by bike, located just 10km from Gasteiz with ample parking available. There are plenty of biking trails to explore, but be cautious when passing under the bridge as there is a fence in place and bikes must be carried over the top. 😛
I haven't actually been to the beach, but I did visit the area near the dam wall. The view of the unloading area is really impressive. I can't speak to the beach itself though. 😎
