If you can take a day trip to Hong Island, I would definitely recommend it. The snorkeling wasn't great the day we went since it was low tide and the visibility was bad. But I believe there are fish and coral to look at if the conditions were better. We still had a great day. The beaches are beautiful. There's a 360 degree view lookout that requires you to climb about 400 steps but it's definitely worth it.
I loved it here. What a beautiful and serene Island. There is so much to do here including snorkeling and trekking. If you intend to snorkel, I would highly recommend footwear because it is extremely rocky and lots of eels lying along the bottom. The water is not crystal clear but you can clearly see lots or colourful fish!
Beautiful beach. Busy at moments due to tours, but then it clears out at times. There is a drink shop next to the swing the far end of the beach. A little shop and restaurant is next to the bathrooms. The watermelon frappe hit the spot.
Great scenery, third time here. What was new for me was the viewtop, 416 steps up you have this real magnificent view of Hong beach and of course a lot of Pang Nga Bay including Lao Lading Island. Took a longtailboat from koh Yao Yai. Reached Hong Island at 8.30 morning. Started out with the quiet NATURE TRAIL,connected to the well built staircase that consists of 416 step to the top. ( see photos). Went down for a swim at magical Hong Beach, then took our booked longtailboat to the lagoon on the backside of the Island where we had the opportunity to have Nice swim also.
Great island to visit on a day trip. Viewpoint is quite a challenging climb but worth it for the views. Would try to get to as soon as possible due to the amount of visitors at times.
