Our stay at Six Senses Koh Yao Noi was generally satisfactory. The standout aspect was the exceptional staff and service, particularly our G.E.M who was attentive and accommodating throughout our stay. However, we found the rooms to be quite basic and dimly lit, and certain facilities showed signs of neglect and lacked basic maintenance. It was disappointing that the main pool closed early at 5:30 pm and had a green color at one point. Additionally, the main beach area around the hotel was somewhat messy. The arrival and departure process was also disappointing. After arriving by boat, we were transferred onto the back of a pickup truck with all our luggage, which felt a bit chaotic. I understand that Koh Yao Noi is a small island, but the arrival process didn't feel as smooth as it should have. The overall experience didn't meet the luxury standards one would expect considering the high cost. We had to adjust our expectations. While focusing on sustainability is important, it shouldn't be an excuse for poor maintenance and basic property upkeep when other hotels in the area have successfully balanced guest satisfaction with sustainability and environmental awareness. I believe some investment is necessary to bring this property up to the level expected by customers and the brand.
The resort as a whole is incredibly beautiful, and the rooms are absolutely stunning, making it the perfect place to relax. The sunrise here is one of the most captivating I have ever seen. What makes this resort stand out is its focus on providing exceptional dining, which is rare even among highly rated hotels. Their Thai restaurant, Nithan, serves authentic southern Thai cuisine. The breakfast buffet offers a wide range of high-quality Asian and Western options, all made from scratch. One pleasant surprise is the specialty-grade coffee that is served throughout the resort, with a diverse selection of blends and single-origin choices. Additionally, the resort is dedicated to sustainability and effectively minimizes waste. However, the most impressive aspect is the staff and their exceptional hospitality. Every interaction is filled with genuine care, support, and a willingness to assist, recommend, or share. We will definitely be returning soon.
The quality of the rooms was subpar, with my sister's room even housing a bat that the staff ignored until the third day of our stay. My room was infested with numerous small bugs and creatures. The outdoor shower was covered in green algae, giving the impression that the place was completely neglected and poorly maintained. Overall, the trip was not enjoyable and the views were partially obstructed.
This hotel is perfect for those who want to experience the beauty of southern Thailand without dealing with the crowds in Phuket. The service at Six Senses is unbeatable and the breakfast buffet is the best I've ever had! We had an incredible three nights here and really enjoyed the private pool. The only downside is that there are a lot of mosquitoes because of the location - you're in the jungle! However, they provide plenty of bug spray and lanterns to keep the bugs away. It's only a problem for me because I have O+ blood. Luckily, my husband didn't have any issues. I want to give a special shout out to Timmy for making our stay so wonderful!
We had a perfect stay at Six Senses. Everything was absolutely incredible. We booked the Ocean Panoramic Villa for our anniversary and the views were breathtaking! The villa itself was very spacious. There were plenty of activities available and the staff was always willing to help organize anything we wanted. The farming they do on the property is also really interesting. You can actually pick your own herbs, mushrooms, and even gather your own eggs! It was also really cool to see the hornbills flying around. Our GEM, Margie, was amazing and very attentive. We really enjoyed having room service in our villa, and they always set up a beautiful table for us. The food was delicious as well. The gym was also quite good, they even had a squat rack. I can't recommend this place enough! We're already making plans for our next trip back. This was definitely one of the best hotel experiences we've ever had.
