East Bay Caicos

We chose East Bay in South Caicos because of our previous experience with Reef Divers. The resort was very nice, our 2 room suite was quite large and clean with an awesome view. The pool area was very enjoyable with a great view of the beach. The food was great, especially the mahi and the desserts. We came with a large group of divers (17) and we were able to see sharks, turtles, sting rays, eagle rays and an octopus! We wanted to give a shout out to Ethan, the dive master for our group. He was attentive, knowledgeable and very hard working. He had his hands full with all of us, but remained calm, friendly and genuine throughout the week. Overall great experience.

Absolutely adored my stay here! The staff are the sweetest, it’s very low key! It’s like you have your own private beach. You can take the water toys out at your own risk. Be smart, LOVED snorkeling for the first time. You can connect your music to the pool Bluetooth to set up your own vibe. Buffet and menu food was great. And definitely take a bike ride into the town to check out the locals grocery marts & bars. I can not wait to come back after they make the renovations into Salterra!

Chef was very accommodating to my dietary restrictions which made my stay more enjoyable. The grounds are beautiful. Be sure to take advantage of the guided island tour and kayaking tours. There is not much to do on the island. It is pretty small and entertainment is scarce. There is no entertainment at the resort. It would be nice for them to offer an outdoor movie night at the pool. My shower area was subpar (pic attached-after it was cleaned) upon check-in and when I asked housekeeping politely if she could clean the shower while she was cleaning the bathroom, she didn’t like that. There was still hair on there when she finished cleaning. Most of the staff were extremely amicable and fun to talk to.

Awesome spot. Very remote location so there are some rough around the edges but of the resort. It is so peaceful and quiet. Beach is very nice, minimal sea grass. They do take a tractor every morning to rake it all up though. Definitely recommend the island tour and the snorkel boat trip excursions!

Not a good value and below expectations and not like the photos for water activities. Expecting to have a tandem kayak and maybe hobie cats. There were only 2 single kayaks and one had a poor seat so my wife never went out since she only likes tandem. There was also 4 SUP boards. The bikes that are available for a fee did not fit my wife and put her in an uncomfortable forward lean even with the seat all the way down. The bikes were noisy with squeaks and groans and most of the gears did not work. I cut our ride short due to the poor rental bikes. I would have liked to ride more but my bike wouldn't shift into it's higher gears which I would need to get any decent speed and riding, so I quit with my wife. I knew it was buffet , however, that is only 6 or 7 pots of food. The chef is good and the dishes were tasty, but almost always one rice dish and one veggie type dish and mostly a fish or chicken meat also prepared with a lot of veggies or sauce, didn't appeal much to my wife so she ate a lot of salads. There is a menu you get for half price if you are paying for all inclusive. The food and prices on te menu were good. Even with a voucher that gave us the all inclusive, our tab was $280 pp, per night, the most we have pad for an all inclusive resort so it was not a good value for us and below expectations. I might have liked it more and felt it was a good value at half of what we paid. Out of 4 resort stays this year, this is the only one I regret and was below expectations - the others exceeded expectations and their advertising. On the upside, the scuba diving there is some of the best I have experienced in the Caribbean. There seemed to be only 20 or less guests while we were staying, so it is great if you want a resort to just relax and do nothing much in a remote location and feel semi private- no entertainment and plenty of room for you. After 5 days we were ready to go home. They are working to expand the resort and number of rooms so in the future it might feel more crowded. Many times at meals were were the only, or one of a few tables in use.
