VERY dog friendly, I’d assume leashes were an unspoken rule but everyone was very cool about the dogs playing without a leash: other beach goers and dog owners- everyone just out there enjoying themselves! Looks like a beach house with restrooms is being built but only a small parking area (about 15-20 spots) with a porta-potty. Clean beach. A sandstone walkway out to the water.
Nice clean beach to relax on with good photo opportunities
I know yesterday the lake had small craft warning but I have come multiple times when there is wood along the shoreline. For being a harbour town they don't clean the shoreline very well.
This place is a magical gem. Stumbled upon it a few years ago while looking for something to do and we go back all the time. The shops are great, lots of food options, and the beach there feels like you're on vacation. My pointer used to love swimming there. My shihtzu, not so much, but he likes laying on a blanket under a tree with me in the beach) Somehow it's a rare place where people bring their dogs to swim and everyone gets along, never any issues, and it's just quiet and clean. I hope it stays the way it is forever. It's a perfect place to spend a day relaxing. (And I'm not a beach person AT ALL) Highly recommend a trip here
Definitely a small beach if you are comparing it to the beaches of the Atlantic. Despite the size nice place for a stroll, play in the lake, watch the boats come in and out of the nearby marina. Most importantly though it’s a beautiful place to catch the sunset. Not many facilities down at the beach. There is a porta potty by the lighthouses but the nearest restroom is up at Exchange Park (Main St and Liberty Ave). Worth the visit while in town.
