If you like sandy campgrounds on the beach then this is the place. Amazing sunsets, huge waves on a semi sand/pebble beach surrounded by giant hills. It literally feels like you are on the ocean. Bonus, very few people around making the campground relatively quiet. The only drawback is the highway is ridiculously close to the sites but because of the wind and waves you basically can't hear it.
This was the first stop of my month long journey up North with me and the 2 dogs. This spot is so nice and beautiful. A huge chunk of the park has water front spots!!!! I was lucky to get one. Staff are amazing here!!! There is lots to do in the area, like fishing, hiking, and scenery.
A great layover along the majestic shores of Lake Superior. Sunsets are beautiful and the campsites are situated very close to the lake. Unfortunately, so is the highway. Large trucks produce a great deal of noise. The comfort stations are fair, the water was warm, but they do need a severe overhaul as many things like door closers, hand dryers, washers, and other infrastructure is not functional. The fire wood was also not great and was wet like it was stored in the lake. If you would like quiet and tranquility, i would recommend visiting Neys which is a few hours west of this park.
Large campground spread out along the shore of Agawa Bay. Campsites are spacious and reasonably private. Many sites are on the beach or have a beach view. Road noise from nearby Highway 17 is noticeable, and the back row of campsites is quite close to the road. Excellent visitor centre, well worth a visit. Comfort stations clean, each with 4 hot showers. Privies clean and have an outside sink. There is lots to do in this park, so definitely stay more than one night.
Beach campgrounds are amazing with stunning scenery. Expect mostly windy days by the beach but location and scenery make up for it. Water is turquoise to blue shades and looks like parts of an ocean. Nighttime is pitch black for star gazing. 5/5 stars.
