We had a fantastic time at Avila Beach Resort in mid-December 2023. The room was spacious and clean. The resort is located right next to two private beaches and within walking distance of Queen Emma Bridge, downtown Willemstad cafes, restaurants, and shopping district. The prices at the restaurants and bars are a bit high, but you are paying for the convenience. Parking is complimentary, and sunscreen is provided for free. There is a small gift shop on the premises. In the evenings, there is live music with local bands. The hotel has a classic Spanish or European feel to its layout and architecture. Room service is available daily. I would definitely stay at Avila Beach Resort again when I visit Curaçao. I highly recommend this hotel resort.
I had a wonderful time at Avila Beach Hotel. It is conveniently located in the center of Willemstad and boasts two stunning private beaches. The infinity pool and natural coral reef were highlights for me. The cozy rooms provided a relaxing atmosphere and the hotel perfectly combined comfort with seaside charm. I appreciated the variety of room choices, including those with ocean views. The staff was attentive and friendly, and the food at Blues restaurant was delicious. I enjoyed the live music and themed nights offered by the hotel. I will definitely be returning in the future.
I would give this hotel more than five stars if I could. The customer service was exceptional, especially from Naphtalya who checked me in with kindness and a welcoming smile. Juliette and Randall were also amazing, providing top-notch service. The staff are all wonderful people. The hotel offers great amenities, clean and convenient facilities, delicious food, and beautiful private beaches. My room was spotless with perfect air conditioning and stunning views. I can't say enough good things about this hotel and can't wait to return with family and friends. If you're looking for a fantastic hotel with outstanding customer service, this is the place for you. I absolutely love it here!
We stayed in an oceanfront room on the second floor, which was a good size. The hotel was nice and we enjoyed having breakfast there every morning. Although the breakfast was a bit pricey, it was better than searching for food elsewhere. The food was good and there were a few nice restaurants nearby. We felt safe walking to the center of town at night. The water was clear with fish swimming around the rocks. I wore slip-on water shoes to protect my feet from the shells when entering the water. Every beach we visited had a stretch of rocks, shells, and coral to walk over before reaching deeper water, so it's a good idea to bring some water shoes. This beach was never too crowded, unlike others on the island.
The Avila Hotel is situated in a fantastic location with a lovely bay beach and calm waters. The Pen Restaurant provided excellent service and a delicious breakfast. However, the Jazz restaurant had poor service as I had to ask multiple times for water and drinks, which arrived after I had finished eating. Despite this, I did enjoy the great band playing. We stayed in the ocean view rooms on the peninsula, but they are in need of updating. I even got a splinter in my foot from the old decking. The curtains could use some shears for privacy while still letting in light, and the bathrooms and furnishings need updating throughout the resort. The lack of proper outlets in the bathroom made it difficult to use my hair straightener, as I had to stand in the hallway to do my hair. It would be a top-notch property if they renovated and modernized the rooms, as the location is excellent. There are many great nearby restaurants, with Fish and Joy being our favorite. I personally would not return until the rooms are updated, but I hope they make improvements as it has the potential to be a gem of a place.
