Lovely spot. Not without flaws. My manicure appointment was misplaced, and the shower had a chipped floor tile as mentioned in another review. However, they do make a mean drink. Grateful for auto correct right now. (And my husband is quite handsome)
Curacao is a fantastic island, but I wouldn't suggest staying here. The motel is quite old and outdated. The walls are so thin that we could hear everything our neighbors were saying. The poolside bars often ran out of liquor and couldn't make certain drinks. Some restaurants closed early, limiting our dining options. Despite the beautiful weather and warm ocean, we will be looking for a different place to stay next time due to the high cost.
I would not recommend staying at this Dreams resort. The hotel is very outdated, small, and has limited food options. The pool and beach area are also in need of updating. When I arrived, I realized I had visited this resort 7 years ago when it was a Hilton property. It seems to have aged beyond being a Hilton and was bought by AMR and converted to Dreams. The rooms have had minimal renovations and there are only 3 restaurants plus a buffet on the resort. The resort is small, so there is usually a wait for the restaurants. It feels like they tried to fit too much into the limited space, and it doesn't have the luxury experience I have come to expect from other Dreams resorts. Curacao is a beautiful destination, but I would not choose to stay at this resort again.
The rooms were clean and the service at the Rendezvous bar was excellent. However, the service at the restaurants was lacking and it seemed like the servers didn't want to be there. The snorkeling off the beach was fantastic, better than at other beaches we visited. The food was okay, but the steak at the seaside grill was very tough. Despite these issues, I would still consider going back as the views were the best out of any island we have visited.
I don't even know where to begin... This resort is hands down the worst place I've ever been to. While the staff was friendly, the resort itself is in desperate need of some serious upgrades. It felt more like a run-down motel than a "Resort & Spa". The rooms were poorly maintained, outdated, and dirty. The sheets had stains, the rooms weren't cleaned unless we asked, the bathroom smelled like urine (we had to request the toilet to be cleaned properly), the ceilings were cracking, the showers were moldy, and at one point my husband and I had to share washcloths and towels because they didn't have any clean ones. The drinks were terrible, there weren't many food options or restaurants like we're used to at resorts, and the juice wasn't fresh. However, there were some good restaurants within walking distance of the resort. The only reason I gave this resort 1 star is because of the friendly employees. If it weren't for the company of our family and friends, we would have been miserable. The pool and beach towels were rarely replaced, and there weren't many activities to do on the resort. Don't waste your money, people :-( I wouldn't even consider staying at any Dreams resort because of this experience! In conclusion, Curacao is a beautiful island, but this resort is definitely not the place to stay if you want to enjoy it.
