Gorgeous beach! Will definitely be back!
My kids love going to this beach and finding fun rocks and throwing rocks on the water. At high tide it's fun to hear the sounds the sounfs the waves make as they crash into the rocks and come back into the ocean.
Do you like round rocks the size of your fist? Like, a whole mountain of them? Then you will love Egypt Beach! Pros: Parking lot close to the beach. More round rocks than you'll know what to do with. Cons: Steep incline means the beach area is on the smaller side. Rocks are fun, but difficult to walk on and get very hot in the sun. No bathrooms the last time I was there. There are small jet-black spiders that live among the rocks and will scurry away when you approach. They could be a pro or con, depending on how you feel about spiders.
Love this beach. Absolutely beautiful and you can still have a small camp fire at night or during the day if you wish. The locals are friendly.
Egypt Beach in the off-season is one of those "It feels like only three people know about this place" destinations. Less well-known than Minot Beach (and lighthouse), just walking along the curved path and then cresting the rocks to find Cape Cod Bay (considered a small sea for navigational and meteorological purposes) for 180 degrees in front of you. Welcome to the South Shore. Native people lived here for thousands of years. In Colonial times the Cod were so numerous that it was joked that a person could walk across certain bodies of water "...on the backs of them".
